NUNTIUS - SUPERSONIC



Nuntius is a 60 min film starring the Finnish futurist actor Mr. Normall. The film is shown exclusively with live sound performed by electronic music maestros Jimi Tenor and Jori Hulkkonen. 
The film is a one man´s journey from one dimension to another and is an event that one must experience live in person.

The concert will be followed by the opening of the joint exhibition of Estonian-Finnish artists - Supersonic.

KULTTUURIHÄIRINTÄÄ 1 POLARIZED! VISION -ELOKUVA- JA MEDIATAIDETAPAHTUMASSA ROVANIEMELLÄ

Rovaniemellä järjestetään 20.–22.11.2015 toisen kerran POLARIZED! Vision -tapahtuma, joka esittelee monimuotoisia ja ajatuksia herättäviä lyhytelokuvia pohjoisesta. Tapahtuma sisältää elokuvakilpailun, lyhytelokuvanäytöksiä, seminaarin sekä muuta oheisohjelmaa. Tämän vuoden teemana on kulttuurihäirintä.

AV-arkin näytöksessä lauantaina 21.11. klo 18 nähdään valikoima festivaalijakelussa kiitettyjä ja palkittuja, uusimpia teoksia viime vuosilta. Näytös on koottu yhdessä POLARIZED! Visionin kanssa.

Forêt Shell by Tuomo Kangasmaa selected for the 25th Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival - Curta Cinema 2015

The festival takes place in Cine Odeon – Centro Cultural Luís Severiano Ribeiro and at Cine Arte UFF in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between November 4 and 11, 2015.

The film participates in the Remote Landscape programme.

“This special programme focuses on films that target the relations between individual subjectivities and the landscapes they inhabit. The programme’s selection has been crafted by the selection committee to reflect a multiplicity of worldwide environments and cultures.”

On Kangasmaa’s video, a French-speaking narrator recollects an event where a film director, who was popular in Finland but defamed by critics, stopped off at a certain service station. Forêt Shell is a cinematic microhistory created by the artist, trying to tie the lost service station to a wider context. The various ingredients in the story interpret Northern Finland as a meeting place of different cultural epochs. The themes in Forêt Shell include locality, national popular culture, the origin of civilisation and essayistic film narrative.

Apinoiden planeetta Helsingin 31. lyhytelokuvafestivaalilla.

AV-arkin koostama näytös Apinoiden planeetta on kunnianosoitus Seppo Renvallin saman nimiselle teokselle, jossa tylyn näköinen arki kaappaa elokuvatrailerin ääniraidan omaan käyttöönsä. Ihmisapinoiden planeetalla taskun pohjalta voi löytyä oma maailmansa. Arki on ihmeellistä. Kaupunki, jonka kaduilla ja rappukäytävissä kuljemme kädet taskuissa, näyttää hyvin erilaiselta kun tilannetta tarkastellaan kauempaa, avaruudesta käsin. Matka kuun pinnalle osoittaa, että kaukaa tarkasteltuna asiat saavat eri mittasuhteet. Ihminen ei enää muistakaan tarkkoja tapahtumia vaan muuttuu osaksi isompaa kokonaisuutta. Näytös on kaksiosainen, jonka toisessa osassa esitetään Harri Larjoston teos Vesikertomuksia.

10th Reikäreuna Film Festival is organised at Orivesi railway station area at 3-7 September, 2014. The festival is organised by Art Association Roihu since 2005. In 2013, the festival had 2,800 visitors.

Hildegard Projekt: Haute Sculpture on Radio Študent

On a show on Radio Študent, entitled Fine umetnosti, journalist Miha Turk gave his review about the exhibition Hildegard Projekt: Haute Sculpture. He said that the exhibition brings an interesting reflexion about the creative process, where the exhibition itself is just a cherry on top of the whole process.

On the website of Radio Študent we can read the following words: »In one room, there is just a projection of a picture of eleven empty chairs and in the corner of the last room artworks are crammed as if they were stored in a depot. It is not clear if the result was the intention of the artists from the beginning or the conceptual nature of the exhibition is the outcome of some kind of a complication, which can happen when working in a group. But this is not actually important. Works, packed in the last room, are very meaningful. On one hand the physical material gives the alibi to the conceptually strong statement in other, almost empty, spaces. The artworks itself are the most abstract part of the exhibition. By itself they are just requisites, which indirectly give meaning and value to the biographies of the artists, who struggle from project to project. Projects, which have a practical value just because they enable the following projects.«

HILDEGARD PROJEKT: HAUTE SCULPTURE

Haute Sculpture

The project is offering a new, extended perspective on the relationship between the curator and the artist, an experimental form of self-organization and creative process, where each participant has its own critical view on the joint process and proposed solutions, which should endure immediate judgment and responses of other group members.

Wieniläisten taiteilijoiden Flat1 –gallerian käynnistämä Entry_Exit näyttelysarja rantautuu Helsinkiin Oksasenkatu 11 galleriaan 24.5. – 9.6.2013.

Entry_Exit on jatkoa viime vuonna Itävallan Wienissä galleria Flat1:ssä toteutetulle viiden suomalaisen kuvataiteilijan ryhmänäyttelylle. Helsingin näyttely jatkaa näyttelysarjaa, jonka ideana on järjestää eri taiteilijaryhmittymien kanssa yhteistyössä kansainvälistä näyttelyvaihtoa. Näyttelyitä on ollut Itävallassa, Ranskassa ja Sveitsissä.

Oksasenkatu 11 taiteilijakollektiivin kanssa järjestettävässä Entry_Exit -näyttelyssä on esillä kaksi kokonaisuutta: Itävaltalaisten taiteilijoiden näyttely Me olemme kriisi 23.-26.5.2013 ja suomalaisten taiteilijoiden Wienissä esillä ollut näyttelyBesides Beauty 1.-9.6.2013.
